Tensile Membrane Structures

Tensile fabric structures is architecture of new generation as well as possibility to supplement traditional architectural solutions. Tensioned membrane material is considered to be the fifth construction element after metal, stone, glass, and concrete. Solutions of architecture textile have been applied just recently not only in Lithuania, but also in the whole world, therefore lately the popularity of them is growing.

This standard provides minimum criteria for the design and performance of membrane-covered cable and rigid member structures, including frame structures, collectively known as tensile membrane structures. It includes permanent and temporary structures. The requirements of this standard apply whether the tensile membrane structure is independent of or attached to another structure.

This standard will be valuable to engineers and practitioners involved in the construction and/or design of tensile membrane structures.

  3. One of the best advantages of tensile fabric structures is that they are translucent. The woven basecloth consolidated with the proper covering permits a light transmission estimation of around 10%. These items are dynamic and contemporary and have rousing structure and inventive shapes. This gives an extremely agreeable level of enlightenment contrasted with the full shine of outside. Coated fabrics have great UV engrossing and reflection properties. That implies it offers safe shade to all clients, while giving extremely agreeable light levels.
